The primary goal of this race is to introduce the sport of sailing, to let visitors rediscover the beauty of the seaway and to encourage economic and cultural interactions between these two cities. The event’s festivities will take place from the 2nd to the 13th of July in Québec and the 18th to the 28th of July in Saint-Malo. Some facts about the Transat Québec Saint-Malo Race

Did you know that this high seas crossing of the North Atlantic and the channel is the oldest West to East ocean race? What’s even more impressive is that it is non-stop and with a crew, on 40 to 70-foot-long single hull and multi-hull boats.

The current record for the fastest crossing was made in 1996 and is held by Loïck Peyron on board the Fujicolor II that crossed from Québec to Saint-Malo in only 7 days, 20 hours and 24 minutes! Will this 20-year-old record hold up again this year? All will be revealed in the next few weeks!
